Big portions, excellent foot.
You wouldn't expect it from a place that has a burrito/taco/nacho assembly line, but this place has the best carne asada in town. They also make their own tortilla chips, and because of that and the freshness of all their ingredients I do believe they also have the best nachos in town. They are open 24 hours, and no matter what time of day it is, it seems there is always a line for this great food. The portions are enormous, so be sure to go there very hungry. I give four stars instead of five for a few reasons:
1. Price is outrageous (but I still pay it because of quality/quantity of food)
2. Parking, like everywhere else in IV, is a disaster
3. There is always a line.
4. They took the carnitas off the menu...bring back the carnitas!

Crazy big and delicious.
The nachos are great. You would never think you could get this type of food in snooty Santa Barbara, but I was wrong. All of the portions are huge, so even if you come with a big appetite, you'll surely have a lot of leftovers. There is plenty of meat in everything and all off the sauces taste just right. It's open late too, so Freebird's can make for a great late night "snack."

amazing quesadillas.
Some prefer the monster burritos but you can't go wrong with the quesadillas. The prices keep going up but that's easy to justify -- the food easily makes for two meals. I'd go as far to say it's the best meal in IV.
