Special Boutique!. I first came across Wm. Laman's shop while visiting Santa Barbara several years ago. The red adirondack chair drew me in and the unique merchandise and special service keeps me coming back! I have ordered many items, both for my home and as gifts for family and friends. Each purchase has been received with delight and my shopping experience has been superb! While the shop carries some very high-end, one-of-a-kind pieces, my purchases have been more moderate, yet the staff has been wonderful and accommodating, both in person, and with special requests for online purchases. Wm. Laman is a neighborhood gem and a not-to-be-missed shopping experience!!

Poor Customer Service. Was looking to purchase a 64.00 item and was told shipping to my residence would cost 31.00 (!) Inquired if there was a more affordable shipping option, and was basically told I was cheap since "the shipping charge was an issue for me". This guy SURELY doesn't need my business, or anyone else within earshot of me, since I will now make it MY BUSINESS to tell others how he operates. BUYER BEWARE!

Buyer Beware. Recently having received a gift, bought at William Laman Furniture Garden in Montecito, Santa Barbara, I attempted to return it as I had already received other similar items. I was informed that returning this was impossible, even for credit in the store, unless I could give the exact name of the person who gave it to me. Having given the names of those who had given us this gift, clearly from this store, in the original packing, I was informed that there was not a record under that particular name, and therefore I had no options for returning this item.

This is certainly not how I do business, and therefore I would not recommend supporting this type of customer service, particularly in our industry.
