The prices seemed a little steep for what they were serving but I figured I would give it a try. I should have gone with my gut and kept on driving. The presentation looked great but I couldn't believe how cheap the ingredients tasted. Nothing seemed fresh. The salmon was very bland (probably farm raised) and the papaya salsa was watered down. On top of that the staff in general seemed cocky and as if they did not have the customers interest in mind. So like I said, it may look great, but just keep on driving.
Please try this restaurant yourself before taking the word of Negative reviews!.
I have never taken the time to write reviews of anything much less posting them. But last week I took a mini vacation and was spending time at the Four Seasons with my partner and son.
I decided to check out a few places to eat before I went and frankly didn't go to any of the ones that I saw had negative reviews. Which I NOW realize is a huge mistake.
Curiously I decided to look up Cava and to my shock I've seen negative reviews on more than a few of the dining guides. I'm also a small business guy and I have to question how negative reviews can be posted damaging a business without any investigation by these so called impartial web sites? To me it seems unfair so I'm posting my opinion here and on the other web sites that I have seen to express my support for this restaurant.
WE went to Cava for lunch on May 20, 2008 - Tuesday, strictly because of a friendly personable waiter by the Name of Tim who encouraged us to try this place. I'm soooooooo glad we did, it was the best Mexican food I had and trust me I've been to very well known establishments such as Palmilla Resort in Cabo and this little place was BETTER.
The service, the cute warm contemporary interior and the food was outstanding. I had a crispy taco combination & The Mojito was the best ever! It was so good in fact that we went back to this place a few hours later for drinks and appetizers. Please try this place out for yourself ...I can't for the life of me understand how someone could be so negative in their review which begs the question....How do we know it wasn't another competitor? Don't try to return food here.. Usually if you try to return food that has been 1/3rd consumed or less, and say that it is not good, they will return it and not ask you to pay correct? Well not at this place. The food was OK, I honestly was not impressed with the place at all, from the annoying fountain that was splashing water on me to the cold calamari. The manager was extremely rude to me when I asked if I could be on my way without paying for the meal that I did not eat. I honestly will never go back here EVER, and highly advise others to not waste the money on a meal they could get at an average priced place, which would probably have better service anyways. Ya, so they throw mango's and cashews in dishes, anyone can do that... Fancy food? Not whatsoever, so very cliche.
Great great great!. Wonderful all the way around; from the chips with three different salsas to my calamari salad. It was the most inventive and delicious salad ever, with bananas, mangos, jicama, cashews and perfectly non-battered, fried calamari. As a bonus, lunch was served by a very gorgeous Brazilian waiter with clear blue eyes and tanned skin. The atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable, in what can be a very uppity town.
creative mexican food. the service we had was great. I like the variation they serve for their salsas. the corn black bean is really good. great flourless chocolate cake!
The Best. My favorite restaurant in town. Inside or outside seating both offer a great atmosphere and fabulous food.
