Total Tourist Trap, Overpriced poor quality food, nice view.
First of all, it's not $10-20. A BLT is $12 and many items were over $25.
I've been in Santa Barbara since 1984 and have been to Moby Dick many times, every time I'm brought there I think, "Now why is it that I don't like this place?" Note that I said, "Brought" for I would never choose to go here. Then they bring cheesy, plastic Coca-cola cups with water to the table while the bus boy nearly pokes my eye out with the silverware that should have been there before we arrived. While the staff speaks to each other in a foreign tongue.
The pre-breaded, pre-frozen fish and chips are poor quality, the "Clam strips" are slices of "Giant clam" and not small, tasty clams, and the Oysters Rockefeller were so smothered in bacon that they lost all flavor (except the bacon) The Hornito's margarita that I ordered was pathetically weak and I'm not a big drinker!!
It is such a shame, and yet so typical, for a restaurant out on a pier with seafood all around to have such poor seafood, fair service, and high prices.
Right next door is the Harbor Restaurant which is awesome. See, it is possible to place a great restaurant in a touristy location.
In summary: overpriced for the quality of food. Beautiful view.

Beautiful View.
This restaurant was a cute restaurant with some history! Located right off Stearn's Wharf, there's a view of the ocean from every table. The restaurant burned completely down back in the 70s (if I'm remembering the year correctly) and was rebuilt. I visited Santa Barbara with some friends from out of town who wanted to taste seafood from CA. We chose Moby Dick's after I did some research online. We were given a basket of bread before dinner that was replenished if so desired. Both friends I was with tried the sword fish, with one ordering BBQ swordfish. He wasn't a fan of the mean, but stated he wasn't so sure he liked the combination of BBQ and swordfish. The fish alone was good. Being a vegetarian, I didn't eat the seafood, but the 4-cheese pasta was great! The prices weren't terrible, either; for the three of us, the dinner came to roughly $85.00, including tip. I'd say prices are comparible to any reasonable, non-chain seafood joint. if you're in Santa Barbara, consider stopping here!

Best Restaurant in Santa Barbara!!!.
I have never had a more wonderful experience than at Moby Dick's restaurant. The food was perfect, the service speedy and friendly, even the owner takes time to greet you at the door!! The view of the ocean is available at every table, and Frank Senatra is frequently playing in the background. I love this place!!
