Great Haircut!. I moved back to Santa Barbara about 5 years and still had not yet found a hair salon that made me happy. I often gave them more than one opportunity because my hair can be difficult to master.

I just had my hair cut and styled by Nickolai and I am thrilled. I found him from this site and based on the reviews I booked the appointment. I have baby fine hair and was wearing it long and straight.

He is gentle, knowledgeable and assessed my hair quickly and without drama. He gave me a fresh new look that fits my face, age and lifestyle. He has many years of experience in this industry and it really shows. He also knows the current trends, techniques and products.

I highly recommend his services and am very happy to have found him. I plan on going back for color. I feel this is a start of a long-term relationship. Hurray!

Terrific cuts & styles. Best hair stylist I've ever had (and my mother was a cosmetologist). Thoughtful and contemporary cuts to make you look your best. Great makeup and facials. I've been a client for many, many years!

Exceptional Results. I had been going to a hair stylist for 8 years before going to JR Nickolai. You know you build trust with your stylist and when you find a good one you don?t want to change. How I met JR? Well, I started treating myself to facial treatments at Beauty by Design and I just loved them and the results. After the treatments I would have girlfriends and people I hadn?t seen for awhile stop and ask me?.. ?WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO YOUR SKIN, IT LOOKS SOOO BEAUTIFUL?. I knew then that the facial treatments were working. I could see the results but more importantly everyone else was too. I constantly get complements on my beautiful skin, and I tell them about the fabulous work that JR Nickolai does. He is a perfectionist and you get perfection in your results. People think I?m in my late 30?s early 40?s. And I love that! Since I was getting such fantastic results with my skin treatments I decided to take a leap of faith and I ask JR Nickolai to schedule me for a hair cut. After the wonderful results I was getting from the facial treatments and the professionalism and talent I saw that JR Nickolai was providing me I wanted to have him cut my hair. I was so amazed after the first cut! I could not believe how alive my hair looked and felt. It had so my volume and the way it moved, I just couldn?t believe that I could get such drastic results from a hair cut. And I thought that I was getting a good hair cut from the stylist I had been going to for the last 8 years. It just proved to me that there are good stylists and then there is exceptional stylist. My hair looked like I had gone to one of those salons the stars go to on Rodeo Drive. Now I have women and men that I don?t even know stop me and tell me how beautiful my hair is. It?s amazing what an exceptional cut will do. THANK YOU JR!

JR works wonders! You?re not in business for as long as he has been in business if you?re not EXCEPTIONAL!

Best haircut. I am visiting from Connecticut and just had a great haircut and wonderful experience at J.R. Nickolai's hair salon. I hope to be back in beautiful Santa Barbara again in six weeks, if only to get another haircut in his salon. I gave him no instructions on how to highlight or cut my hair. I am very happy with my new look.

The best hair salon in Santa Barbara!. I love JR Nickolai Beauty By Design Center! J R does not just cut hair he shapes it. He is an artist and is amazing at what he does. I am 34 years old and have been coming here for 18 years! When I get my hair styled by J R it will look just as good 6 months down the road! I love that. My hair colour never leaves a line when it grows out and never fades away to look dull or drab. It can be 5 months after I get my hair done and I still get complaiments from people about my hair. J R is a joy to be around and always has some sort of advice to save me from looking my age or even worse looking older than I am! I am always telling people about J R and recommending him as the best of the best. I get great service here and always leave with a smile on my face. You get one on one treatment with J R which is a nice change from the hustle and bustle of some of the salons out there. I would never let any other person touch my hair! Never. My name is Ananda and I highly recomend J R to anybody who wants the best treatment in Santa Barbara
