Kingfisher Cottage is a "spec" of a room. The Kingfisher Cottage is a spec of a space & extremely over priced at $175.00 a day.

My cousin & I along with her small dog stayed in the Kingfisher Cottage 4/11-13/08. This cottage room is a spec of a space with a Queen bed taking up the entire room.

We had just driven down from the Monterey Peninsula where we had a lovely pet friendly room with a dog bed inside along with doggie bones on pillow. We stayed in lovely Pacific Grove which was truly walking

distance to the ocean, free continental breakfast, extended cable, pool, jacuzzi, grass with picnic tables all for $79.00 a night. I remember telling my cousin that next place we stay was going to be even nicer. I had such great expectations of the Secret Garden Inn from the lovely pictures viewed on their web page.

I couldn't have been more wrong. the Kingfisher Cottage is a spec of a space with little room to move around the bed. The closet was blocked by a chair. I was unable to close the french doors to bathroom as bed blocked the door from closing. If there had been a bed in the bathroom I would have slept there as it was 3/4 the size of the room. When I menti0oned the above problems to Margaret, the fill in Innkeeper, she responded: "Besides all that how is everthing"

The owner Dominque Hannuax has brought her small space thinking from France & incorporated into her design of this petite space called the Kingfisher Cottage. the location of the Secret Garden Inn is above the 101 freeway & nowhere near the beach,,restaurants or shopping. Need car or bus to get around. Let the lodger beware.

Very poor customer service. I cancelled my reservation one month in advance and was charged a fifteen dollar fee. I would not advise anyone to leave a deposit to secure a room in advance unless you like to throw money away!

Old, Insufficient Supplies. Not worth the money indeed. I did not enjoy staying there. The room was small and smelly. The bed sheets do not look clean. The rug was brownish black. They did not offer sufficient toiletries. We had to find an iron ourselves in the dark storage room in the back. It was pitch black! One of the most unenjoyable experience for me. It was pricey for a bed & breakfast. I would not go back.

Cozy Cottage. Cozy cottage... took my wife for her birthday and booked the "Kingfisher" room. Very small, and thin walls. The Innkeepers were nice, but the owner was a little pushy. I was present in the room when the owner began berating a worker.. not professional. The artichoke quiche was lousy. This establishment was dog friendly, and boy was it, with dogs everywhere. I will not stay here again.. not worth the cost.
