Great local hangout... You're living in the town where people don't eat, and you want comfort food - what do you do? Head to Joe's. This is good American food, and they stay open late, I think dinner 'ends' around 10pm and the 'appetizers' 11pm, but they're always pouring those strong drinks at the bar.

I love that the wait staff are wearing shirt and tie, and look like they might be the original staff from 1928.

You can eat an absurdity for $30 there - and I don't advise it. We took home at least the next days' lunch and dinner after being indecisive about appetizers, salads and entrees.

I can recommend the pretty much all the meats, Ive had them all and have always been happy.

Sorry, I can't finish this review, I have to go and get the Omaha right now.

Breakfast sandwich was delicious.. The California avocados made this sandwich, one crispy sourdough. Egg cooked just right- fried with a bit of runny yolk still! And their homemade salsa was very good. My in laws got the huervos Mexican which was big enough to share and include homemade tortillas. My wife had the Benedict, which had great hollandaise sauce. She commented it was one of the best sauces she's ever had in an eggs bene, which is quite a compliment from a woman who has eggs bene any chance she can get.

Suprisingly good Southern food. Didn't know what to expect and just went in for dinner. Had a drink and the Special of the night... Ham Hocks! Wow! Being from Louisiana originally, it needed some added kick (i.e. Tabasco), but the ham and beans were EXCELLENT!

Worst SERVICE EVER!!!. Okay sooo... we're from Los Angeles and we went up to Santa Barabara for the weekend. Beautiful City... we had a great time wine tasting, checking out the scenery and fun! Until our last day there... we stopped in at Joe's Cafe... it looked like a nice little place... convenient... roomy

Until we sat down and had the worst service I have EVER had in my life!

Our waitress/server was non communicative.... she didn't say a word to us except "are you ready to order?"

EVerytime we would ask her for this or for that she didn't ever confirm with a "yes" or "no"... nor did she even nod her head to let us know that she heard us!!!

So... low and behold, there we items missing... and the food was horrible! The things we requested weren't even put in. I got blueberry pancakes with 3 whole blueberries in them!!!!

When the manager came by to see how everything was going we explained our situation and she sided with the server saying "oh so and so is a GREAT server" and blamed the food solely on the KITCHEN! She never once said "oh I'm sorry, let me fix that for you" or "i'm sorry is there anything I can do to make it better?" We didnt want a free meal or anything... we just wanted descent service!

On our way out the 3 out of 4 of us walked out and our 4th friend had a bum leg at the time so he trailed behind us and heard the manager tell all of her servers "they were just being arrogant"

OMG!!! we're over here spending our hard earned money and she wants to treat us that way!?!

WORST SERVICE! WORST RESTAURANT!

Best Eatery in Santa Barbara. My husband and I love this place. Every time we visit SB we eat there at least 3 times in a weekend. Great great food, stiff drinks, great breakfast, great night scene. Love it.
