Great Sushi.
Arigato Sushi is one of my favorite Sushi places. The rolls are really fresh and full of flavor, the service is great, the prices are good. This is just a great sushi place to come to with friends and enjoy an evening with good food and company.

Creative rolls, friendly service, cool scene.
Came here during a recent trip from Los Angeles and like the other reviewer, I agree that Arigato beats most of the sushi joints in L.A. We were there on a Saturday night & boy was it jam-packed. We thought we'd have to wait forever & were going to go somewhere else when we saw all the folks waiting & all the taken tables in the little outdoor sidewalk area, but they actually had a table for two, which was perfect. Indeed, the place is super-cramped, but it's still a cool scene - lots of people-watching and the rolls go on for days -- cucumber wraps, lots of avocado & really buttery salmon, just the way i like it. Definitely will be coming back on my next trip to SB.

Fresh Sushi and Great Service.
I visited Arigato this past weekend (4/28/07), and really enjoyed the great service and fresh tasting sushi. They have a very creative menu, but creativity comes with a price. This place adds up easily, but if you're in the mood for great tasting sushi, and cost isn't a factor, then Arigato is your place. Great for dates, but not large groups.

Favorite Sushi Place.
This is the best restaurant in Santa Barbara. I live in Los Angeles and this place is better than any Sushi restaurant here. The food is creative and consistently fresh and delicious.

What a catch!.
I lived in Japan for a year and I have to say, this little restaurant in Santa Barbara is fantastic! The fish is fresh, the service is gracious, and the price is really, really reasonable. One memorable roll was the Pretty in Pink - smoked salmon, avocado, red burdock (carrot) in rice and pink (!) soy paper. Delicious and fresh. Arigato gozaimasu, Arigato Sushi!

Stuff that dreams are made of....
Arigato has been my favorite sushi place in SB for as long as I can remember. Even after they moved to this (larger) location, the food is still amazing. Some of the most creative and delicious rolls you can imagine, including my favorites the Pro Melt, Swinging Roll, and Eskimo Roll. Do not miss this place--it's fantastic.

Great Sushi Bar.
I found this place once by accident, and it turned out it was something of a local legend. I felt really lucky to stumble on it. The fish was good, but I enjoyed some of their cooked specials even more. Try the one called "locals only." It's really good. Sit at the bar and your sushi chef might surprise you with extra treats. By him a beer and you'll improve your odds. In spite of the college town/just off State Street location, Arigato draws a slightly older crowd. The restaurant is small and fills up fast, so you might have to wait a little bit for a table but it's so worth it.
