Chase Bar & Grill The

Sliding downhill fast. Went to celebrate the holidays and a friends birthday. I was served two separate cocktails both with lipstick on the glass that was not mine. This is sad as I only ordered two throughout the entireity of the evening. Service was entirely too slow even for a busy night and after a 45 minute wait for appetizers our order was wrong. I cannot believe how bad the Chase has become. Never have I been treated so poorly in a Santa Barbara Restaurant. I actually witnessed the bartender slam a menu shut in a woman's face then throw her out for complaining about her soiled dishes and incorrect order.

Chase Bar and Grill used to be an amazing family owned restaurant where you were treated well, the food was amazing, and the drinks were always good. Never once was I served anything in a soiled dish. Customer service here was once impeccable. Now it is nothing more than a shame.

I most certainly wish the Caligiuri family still owned the Chase as I know they would NEVER let this happen.

To sum up my 2011 visit to what used to be the best restaurant in SB in two words I would have to say HIGHLY DISAPPOINTING…

Gloria and Tod like to pad checks & get mad when you catch!. It is very unfortunate that this nice place has such unprofessional bartenders working there. They were caught padding our check and got mad and horrible with us when we asked them to correct the check! One would think they would say "sorry" and/or offer us a free drink or something reasonable for their mistake, but for both of them to get argumentative about it and try to humiliate us for asking to have our check looked at makes us believe they were plotting and padding our check together, and they didn't like getting caught.…

Really, that is how you treat your customers? Really?. The previous reviews are spot on, the place seems cool enough but the food is just OK. Not bad, but not great. Although I do have to give them props for the Alfredo, it was very good. What boggled my mind was the service. For most of the meal it was fine. In fact, I thought it was adequate even past the point of paying my bill. But as I was sitting at my table getting ready to leave I felt a very strange cold sensation on my leg. A server had spilled a vat of blue cheese dressing on me. Why this volume of dressing was being served to anyone is beyond me, but that isn't the point. My pant leg and both of my boots were covered. The volume was so great that it actually splashed up my pant leg and all over my shin, which of course ran down to the inside of my boot. I understand gravity happens so I wasn't really all that upset (yet). I just started to clean up a bit and told the server that these things happen. What got my goat was the inability of the server to put herself in my shoes. My letting her her know that I understood it was not intentional was not a dismissal of responsibility. If you douse someone in blue cheese dressing you should probably try to make up for it. Offer to pay for the cleaning at the very least. I spent the next day tracking down a laundry rather than enjoying my vacation. My boots, despite my best efforts, seem to have a new interest for my dog. That was the price I paid. What was the price they paid for their error? To be fair they did offer me a piece of cheesecake. Really? Cheesecake? Really? I declined. Needless to say I will not be going back. Ever! Utterly disappointing. Truly a zero when it comes to service.…
