It is set in a historic hidden courtyard that looks like a Spanish colonial village with a beautiful fountain. However, it is a bit pricey- your best bet is going on Tuesday evening for the taco buffet!
Horrible customer service. The customer service -- mainly from the manager -- at this restaurant was appalling. It was a chilly night and the restaurant is semi-outside (it has a retractable roof) and there was one heat lamp working to cover about 15 tables. We asked repeatedly if other lamps could be brought in, but were told that they were out of propane (this was fairly early on a Sat. night) or couldn't be moved. When we asked to speak with the manager, he came over with his cell phone glued to his ear on a personal phone call, obviously so that he would not have to actually address us. At one point during the evening, there were three children huddled under the one lamp trying to stay warm. The food was fine, but I would not subject myself to such poor customer service again.
Not what we were expecting.... This res't was highly recommended by the hotel staff, but my friend and I weren't totally impressed. Great ambience and really good food is slightly outweighed by the difficulty in finding the place. Another bad note was that, sadly, the margaritas were very poor -- especially considering we paid extra for Herradura Silver in mine and Patron in hers, but could barely taste it. We might have gone on a bad night, but I would recommend holding back your excitement til you're there and decide for yourself.
Great Margarita. I have come here for years and always have a great margarita with so many different types of tequila with great chips and salsa you feel like your in Mexico having a good time. Great Place!
A Perfect Santa Barbara Restaurant. Finding the place was a little hard but when you walk through the old Spanish building and to see this beautiful setting. Had table side guacamole made right in front of was wonderful. Server recomended the 'El Paseo' margarita best I have had. You feel like your outside with the open roof that can close or open
