Amazing Experience.
This was the most amazing experience. My family really enjoyed the extremely large family-style portions. The servers were very friendly and they all worked as a team so service was outstanding.
We loved all the colorful animation in the dining room. The Sistine Chapel ceiling, the flying chef, and the staff singing "That's Amore."
The food was outstanding and the value is there!! Why go to other restaurants that give you small portions for twice the price. In this economy this is the place to go!!! My family gives this place a real thumbs up.
wonderful. great all around, food, wine, service. We'll definitely go back! The portions are huge, definitely share! They have an honor system, serve-yourself wine, which I think is very cool. And the entire staff works as a team to serve you... great service!
Fantastic and ample pasta. The shrimp pasta dishes are outstanding. The service was pretty slow in getting for seating and drink refills, but the ambiance more than made up for it. The Sistine Chapel style painted ceilings and walls continued not just throughout the dining area but into the restroom as well. The much touted rolls were a little chewy for my taste, but the meal itself was fantastic.
Marginal at Best. On our trip to Santa Barbara, we also ate at Palazzio's, mistake. I ordered the lunch special which to me seemed like they sort of tricked you with the way they priced it.....very confusing. I figured rigatoni with sausage, how could you screw that up? Well they figured it out. The best part about this place was the greasy bread rolls.
Ample amount of food. Cozy little joint that serves up good dishes. One order is good for two maybe three people. I normally eat alot of pasta and was yet not able to finish my dish. The food is good maybe not great, but worth the price. It would be a great place for a group of people. Waiters are freindly and they have some good garlic bread that comes around if you really like oregano (it is completely covered in it).
mediocre Italian food, overhyped by people who've never been to Italy.
This place is always crowded by the UCSB and City College people. Their 'thing' is huge vats of pasta and greasy bread that tastes pretty good. The food is very, very mediocre and not worth the money - once, I ordered pasta carbonara, a very simple dish (egg yolks and parmesan cheese coat hot pasta, you add some fried bacon, a some cream, and that's it). I got a vat of pasta soup, with a ton of cream and peas?!?!
Anyway, avoid it (and avoid Aldo's, across the street) and go to Ca'Dario on Victoria.
just alright.
Bartender was rude last time we were here.
The pasta's are ok, the garlic rolls are really the
only reason to come here.
excellent for couples!. Well me and my lady friend were first suppose to go this upscale restaurant in Santa Barbara called 'NU' but when they couldn't cook our filet mignon to our liking, we went walking for a better place to eat. We passed up this place and just couldn't resist it's cool atmosphere. We ordered drinks, appetizer (mushroom caps are awesome!!), food and dessert and EVERYTHING was delicious. Service was very prompt and food was exceptional!! We will return soon!
Good Food, HUGE portions. Be aware that the portions here are HUGE. Be sure to split even half orders with another person or be ready to take home leftovers. Good food and good service.
