Expect chain food. Would it be mean to say I prefer "Chevy's" if you're going to make me eat at a Mexican food chain? I was relieved to see quite a few Latinos dining here and the kitchen and wait staff were Latino as well. Tried El Torito (no longer a chain in our city, where Chevy's rules) in the past & was hesitant about trying it again. There must be over 80 of them in the US, so somehow the food can't be too bad, I told myself. It wasn't too disappointing. I had 2 tamales, mostly maze and a litte filling. In other words, "where's the beef?" One was green sauce and the other red. It came with pinto beans, rice and a tiny scoop of sweet polenta. I couldn't finish it all. Their chips came with a spicy salsa, crispy but not as thin as the kind served at Chevy's. I guess you could do worse with the food, but it's nothing I'd recommend to someone visiting in the area. They do have happy hour some weeknights with bargains on appetizers and drinks. You could make a meal of that alone, as happy hour ends at 8pm! Great place to host a large birthday party where the staff will sing to you.
