SAD NEWS FROM A REPEAT CLIENT -- DECLINING QUALITY OF FOOD AND SERVICE. Until my last visit here, I'd found the food and service great. But when I returned two weeks ago on a Saturday night, I was the restaurant's sole diner (5pm to 6pm), and received the worst meal I've been served in nearly a year. The lamb chops entree consisted of two fatty lamb cuts -- one was over 90% fat, and contained only a 2" sliver of meat -- suffocated in a thick brown sauce. I sent it back. Whereas for prior visits, Bacchus served mini potato hors d'oeuvres with caviar, now it substituted a ragged piece of lox for the caviar. Loud music played overhead, and when I said I'd prefer quiet (as I was the restaurant's only diner) the server said she preferred the music, and kept it on. What a miserable experience -- and for $48, not including drinks! I wouldn't recommend this place and won't return again.
