Wow!

It's been a while, I must admit since I've been to piatti - it had that 90's "friends" vibe and so I stayed away for the last 5-6 years. Last resort last night, I was starving and didn't want to make the trek to SB so I succumbed. Wow! The food was five star - the wine list impressive, and the service impeccable. Go in now and try the new chef's red wine braised beef Short Rib with summer squash ?Linguini? before he takes it off the menu. I highly recommend this based on this one experience.

great place, food and service!

i cant describe piatti in any other way than a great place for any ocasion, from a business lunch to a date =)

piatti is a great place, it has some different areas for you to choose... you can get a table indoor by the little creek that passes by, have a seat outside... there's also a little garden on the back from where you can still watch the creek around trees having a drink from the bartenders or having some of their great wines...

also the people that work there are great and for sure will do the best for you to have a good time =)

i am a bit suspicious to say all this as i have worked there for a couple of months, but after that time, when you get to know a place and also the staff that are there for you all, i can definately say they have only great people to make your time there worth every minute =)

Beautiful, private, great food and energy

Every person and every restaurant has bad days, I guess, because I was so surprised to see a bad review of this place. We love it. Food is always great, servers pleasant, and I love the ambience in the back garden area. After living in a rural county further north, where it's more shabby than chic, we just really appreciate Piatti for everything it has to offer. It's our favorite.

Tasteless and poor service

I had high expectations for Piatti's, as it is one of my friend's favorite restaurants in the Santa Barbara area. We were all very disappointed by the food. My pasta was just tasteless. I didn't try the other people's food, but we all agreed that it was just average. Definitely overpriced, given how boring and "blah" the food was.

• Pros: The back fireplace area is very cozy
• Cons: Food is nothing spectacular and the service is not that great, either
