Best known for the celebrated Santa Rita Hills Chardonnay and Pinot Noirs he produces in collaboration with Greg Brewer, this family-run side project has evolved into a 10,000-case-per-year endeavor. Clifton pays tribute to old world wine-making techniques and the magic of food pairings in the form of relatively obscure grapes like Tocai Friulano and high end blends such as Savoia (Nebbiolo, Barbera, Syrah). The tasting room is located in an unremarkable-from-the-outside storage garage; inside, the Renaissance-style "enoteca" features striking yellow walls and maps of motherland.
