Honest Dentist. I was pretty worried of going to a dentist since the last dentist I had gone to completely ripped me off and told me to get procedures that I didn't really need. This dentist was very honest and told me exactly what needed to be done and how much the price would be before the procedure. I'm very happy with both his work and his prices. I think he did a great job and will definitely go back to him.…
Not the best quality.
I went to this dentist twice based on the good reviews here. For the second visit I needed a dental exam for an overseas program. This dentist could not take the full mouth x-rays required by my
program because they do not have the proper equipment (which I've been told is relatively standard). He also said he could not fill out the periodontal section usually completed by a dental hygienist because he was not qualified. This was possibly a communication issue because English is not the first language of the staff, but other dentists have told me a dental cleaning should be standard and I should be alarmed. On a good note, I also had two cavities filled here, which I've had no problems with and my new dentist says they were filled correctly.
Don't go here if you expect a good dental cleaning as part of your visit.…
Happy Customer.
He seemed honest and his work was professional, quick and efficient. He said that any normal dentist would look at the x-ray and determine I needed a root canal, but I expressed my desire to avoid
one if possible and so he filled with with a composite and gives it a 70% chance to work. So we'll see how it goes when the numbing wears off, but it's feeling good so far.
The cost also seemed good. I plan to continue returning to him.…
totally old school.
I've gone to another dentist before, who took x-rays, "saw nothing" and recommended that I get braces for $3000, because "it may help."
I looked up dentists online and decided to give Goleta Dental a try. I called them at 8am because of severe pain in my tooth and they managed to fit me the same day. I went in, I explained my situation, the doctor asked me some questions, and just like that he concluded that I needed root canal surgery. After confirming it with some more x-rays, he went ahead and scheduled me for the root canal right away.
The procedure was pretty uneventful. Although, the dental assistant didn't really seem to know what she was doing (e.g. she would use the little white suction tube thing to suck at random parts in my mouth and not where there was actually water for her to remove); nothing egregiously wrong. The whole appointment took only an hour. Overall, the procedure went smoothly.
I haven't had to deal with my insurance and everything yet, so we'll see how the billing part goes in the future.
Also, they're pretty low-tech (but still well-equipped). For example, their scheduling is done on a day planner and not on the computer. And so, if you want a place that doesn't have a lot of frills, but will get the job done swiftly and effectively, I high recommend this place.…
Good care. The doctor was honest and just told me just what I needed done. He took care of my teeth for a very reasonable price.
