rude!. This used to be one of my favorite places to get pho. It used to be a place with a menu on the wall, where you ordered at the counter and they then brought the food out to your table. They recently re-designed the place by taking the menu off the wall and hiring a waiter. I liked it better before. The food is still great, but the service is just downright rude! The cashier/manager that used to be there at lunchtime was not there when I recently went there for dinner, and perhaps that was the problem.

In my recent experience there, my girlfriend wanted to substitude fried rice for the white rice that came with her meal. The response: no substitutions allowed! I even tried to order her a side of fried rice instead, but they would only sell it in a full family-sized meal serving. Also, the cook/manager lady kept coming out and yelling, in very poor and broken English, to find out who ordered what food. The impression I got was that she was angry at having to speak English at all, and wasn't afraid to let everyone know that she was angry. And the teenaged waiter that was attempting to work as a buffer between her and the customers was nothing more than what you would expect of a highschool kid working part-time, a bit lazy and unconcerned about customer happiness.

If anyone from that restaurant reads this review, here is my advice: keep the mean lady in the back and away from customers, fire the kid waiter and put the menu back on the wall and let people order at the counter, and for heavens sake, allow simple substitutions (such as fried rice instead of white rice).

The food is still great, but my recent experience was ruined by that mean lady from the kitchen.
