loved it!.
My family (parents, husband and I) stayed at this hotel for 3 nights. The price was very reasonable, and the excellent breakfast was included in the rate.
We spent some time in the Jacuzzi, and walked to the peer, & State Street, which are only a couple blocks away from the hotel. We also rented bikes & took a stroll to the nearby lake. The location is excellent!
The rooms are very comfortable quite & clean and the service is great!
We had a wonderful time and hoping to be back to Oceana soon!
Hotel Oceana is not nice. I've stayed her once before and in comparison to this last time, it was like night and day. The first time I stayed there, I had a nice room (with a flat screen on the wall) on the top level near the front pool with a view of the ocean. This time around they put is in a very old out-dated room (looked like the room wasn't updated since the 70's). It was in an area that was under construction, noisy (hammers, saws, banging) and had the furniture laying out on the walkways. We then complained and spent the next 2 hours trying to get a different room. They showed us a room and we accepted only to go get our stuff and then have them say that it was reserved for another guest. We finally settled on a different room with a smaller bed (they didn't offer to lower the rate). Well, the next morning we placed the "please service room" tag on the door to return to a room that wasn't serviced (at 3pm). That was it. We were fed up with this hotel. I Spoke to the Manager and had them check us out. They did not charge us for the other nights. He explained that they were renovating their rooms. It would've been nice to know, especially at $300+ per night. We checked into the Harbor View Inn, which was a little more per night, but A LOT better in quality and service. To top it all off, I forgot something in the room. I called them and they took down my number stating that they would call me to let me know and never called me back. Their guest service leaves a lot to be desired. OH, by the way, we weren't the only ones complaining. In the 2 hours that we were trying to find a room, 5 other guests complained.
Clean, Comfortable Hotel w/ Pleasant Ocean Views However Excess Charges Afterward Were A Hassle. After a nightmare B&B experience at The Orchid Inn, finding the Hotel Oceana was a relief. The staff was helpful and accomodating. The rooms were clean, spacious and tastefully decorated with newer fixtures and a refrigerator in the room. My only complaint is that there were stains on the carpet but the hotel staff did acknowledge that they were currently in the process of renovations. We paid $187 a night including hotel tax and parking in February. There are ample outdoor seating areas, pleasant ocean views and a pool/hot tub outdoors. Overall, it was a very enjoyable stay and close to State St. shopping. Unfortunately, when we got home they had charged us for use of the mini-bar when we used nothing. I had to call the hotel twice to get it taken care of, which was really annoying. On that hassle alone, I wouldn't stay there again.
quaint B&B. Very cute little hotel - layout is kind of confusing though. We got there, the people were friendly, the view was nice. Definitely not a place for the summertime though because the rooms ventilation system is horrible so it would be killer in the summer. The rooms are super close together so you can hear EVERYTHING that is going on. Cute little communal patio/deck areas. The parking situation is a little confusing, but no big deal. Cute little restaurants and cafe's to walk to. Showers are SUPER tiny no tubs (even though we requested one) . The Aveda stuff smells HORRIBLE - don't use it. Overall cute but I wouldn't go back.
