Horrible customer service, left before we even had a chance to order. We waited forever to even be greeted, were evetually told to seat ourselves (which we would have done sooner if the sign upfront didn't clearly say "Please wait to be seated"), and then waited even longer before our server came to our table and half-heartedly asked what we'd like to drink. When I asked a basic question about an item on the menu, she responded with a snide remark, at which point we obviously stood up and left immediately. I've honestly never been treated so poorly at a restaurant. I was astonished. I can understand slow service from time to time if a place is busy (which this place wasn't), but rudeness is never excusable. I guess I feel that if you behave like a friendly and mature adult, you have the right to expect similar treatment in return - in this instance, I was disappointed.

Great Brisket Sandwiches and Knishes. This cute cafe in downtown Carpinteria is great. Great portions of healthy food, fresh baked breads and pastries, organic greens and delcicious salads, and brewed iced tea. My favorties are the slow-cooked brisket of beef sandwich, the knishes, and the salad with parmesan-peppercorn dressing. Great value.

Cute little cafe. This little place on the main street of Capenteria was frequented often by Julia Child. The food is typical cafe fare, and is good, but not great...maybe 7/10. Baked products rate 8/10 They are only open for breakfast and lunch.
