Horrible Ethics.
Coffee Diem is the WORST place to go. Take it from me, I only worked there for less than a month and I couldn't STAND Carmens work ethics!!! She never made two drinks the same way and if you look at her blended drinks she puts almost an inch and a half of whip cream at the bottom of the cup so you're getting much less than the size of the cup and adds about two inches of whip cream at the top. IT'S REDICILOUS!! At Starbucks a Venti Blended Drink is $4.30 and its 26 ounces (trust me I checked) and here its $4.95 for the biggest size here is 24 oz. Not to mention she never pays people on time and is a manipulator! Her employees were having to go out and buy basic supplies like mops, containers, ice, whip cream, sanitation rags, thermometers for the milk so you didn't burn it, & etc. for her store because she was so unorganized to do it herself. When we came there were no sanitation rags to wipe down the espresso machines so when you bought a mocha or w/e you were receiving crusty milk that had been re-steamed 3x in the last 3 hours and were receiving old shots. Not to mention she sampled everything she served to you as she was making it! Disgusting. Whats worse is that one of the new girls she hired from Starbucks told me that when she was checking milks she discovered that they were selling 2 day old spoiled milk to customers! 2 DAY OLD CURDLED MILK!! 3 GALLONS WORTH!!! And when she confronted her about it she laughed and said "Ooops glad the customers didn't realize it." IS THAT HONESTLY WHO YOU WANT TO BE BUYING COFFEE FROM?!?!? Not to mention they only have us re-brew coffee when we run out. That could be stale 5 hour old coffee you're drinking. Carmen has been withholding checks, not paying her employees for the time they worked and constantly has someone stealing money from the registers because theres NO accountability. Her checks are constantly bouncing! She doesnt follow labor laws at all and is in CONSTANTLY violating health codes! Pastries are never dated and are only thrown out when her employees happen to see mold. Until then, theyre for sale.
With all this said, do you really want to buy coffee and pastries from Coffee Diem and support Carmen in all shes doing??? Think about that next time you drive by a Coffee Diem store. Why not try Café Monet or Blue Sky Coffee if you feel like supporting local businesses or try Starbucks out if you want to buy coffee from a world renowned company.
